Sickness, Supplements, and Plant Medicines on a Carnivore Diet (My Experience)

It seems I’m recovering from what appears to be my second time with a common cold as a carnivore!

So if the carnivore diet’s so healthy, why am I sick? First of all, I used to get sick several times every single year ― not once every two years. That actually counts as tremendous progress!

More importantly, both illnesses came after sleep deprivation and alcohol consumption. This time, I sprinkled some stress on top of that toxic stew. No wonder I came down with the sniffles!

But how am I recovering? Simple: sleep, supplements, and intermittent fasting. The supplements include grass-fed beef liver from Optimal Carnivore, wild-caught fish eggs from Ancestral Supplements, and canned cod liver. For an even bigger boost, I’ve added zinc, vitamin C, and iodine.

However, I’ve also been using cayenne pepper, black pepper, garlic, and ginger. These plant medicines clear my sinuses and have antimicrobial properties that could potentially help me to recover faster.

That’s right: I’m a carnivore who believes in plant medicine, and have always said so! But remember, it’s even better to maintain a healthy lifestyle and avoid getting sick in the first place. So I’m happy to set an example ― on both sides!
